Library

VDDHH maintains a lending library of resource materials relating to deafness, hearing loss, sign language, interpreter training, technology, education, and many more topics. There are books, workbooks, videotapes, journals and other periodicals, games, and subject files. The library is available to anyone who is a resident of Virginia. It is a great resource for consumers, parents, other family members, students in interpreter training programs and others interested in a broad range of information. There is no cost to borrow materials, although the borrower is responsible for return postage. Books may be checked out for four weeks and videotapes circulate for two weeks.

You do not have to come to Richmond to take advantage of the resources available in the Library. You can call, e-mail or fax your materials request from anywhere in the state. Of course, if you are in Richmond, you may stop by during office hours (8:15a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) and browse through the library.
